The Department of Defense has identified 3,741 American service members who have died since the start of the Iraq war. It confirmed the deaths of the following Americans yesterday:

BALCON, Dane R., 19, Pfc., Army; Colorado Springs; First Cavalry Division.

COOPER, David A. Jr., 36, Sgt. First Class, Army; State College, Pa.; Second Infantry Division.

NURNBERG, Keith A., 26, Specialist, Army; McHenry, Ill.; Third Infantry Division.

WARFORD, William T. III, 24, Cpl., Army; Temple, Tex.; First Cavalry Division.

WHITE, Delmar, 27, Staff Sgt., Army; Wallins, Ky.; Kentucky Army National Guard.
